 ABOUT US OUR LOCATION
Australian Recreation and Education Tours (ARET) was established in 1990 with the philosophy of providing an English learning experience that is fun, relaxed and benefits from the natural beauty that Australia has to offer. ARET coordinates a wide variety of activities, including English course programs for junior high school, high school and university students, tourist activities and homestay programs. We also offer Japanese immersion courses for Australian high school groups and self-contained accommodation catering for up to 15 people. ARET is based in Wollongong. As its Aborigine name translates, Wollongong is situated between the mountains and the sea. Situated approximately 80 km south of Sydney (1.5 hrs by car or train), Wollongong boasts natural beauty that lends itself to many outdoor activities, such as hiking, marine sports and cycling, among others. Because of this and its easy access to the more cosmopolitan Sydney, it is no exaggeration to say that Wollongong is the ideal location to study English while getting to know intimately Australian culture and its great outdoors.
